Axinn says data show incidents of sexual assault start at ‘very young age’

February 20, 2017

William Axinn was one of four panelists who convened at the Ford School to discuss sexual assault on U-M’s campus. Panelists addressed how research awareness, community action, and policy can work together to alleviate the problem. They also emphasized the need for parents to start early, talking with their children about mutual respect and equality between the sexes. Axinn said: “I have two sons and two daughters, and this issue has really heightened my awareness of the sons and all the work we need to do with them. The data are clear that these incidents start at a very young age.”
