The Allan Nevins Prize in American Economic History is awarded annually by the Economic History Association for the best dissertation in U.S. or Canadian economic history. The 2015 prize was awarded to former PSC trainee Andrew Goodman-Bacon, who graduated with a PhD in economics in 2014, for his dissertation “Three Essays in Health Policy Evaluation.” His doctoral committee included Martha Bailey, John Bound, John DiNardo, and Helen Levy. Goodman-Bacon is now an RWJF Scholar at UC-Berkeley and will begin as an assistant professor in economics at Vanderbilt University in 2016. He received the award at the Economic History Association’s annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, September 13, 2015.
