This project serves a dual purpose. First, it will provide the necessary time for rigorous analyses of cross-national data that have been completed in Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. The data are de-identified, cleaned, and ready for analysis. Second, it will advance the theoretical and conceptual framework of our research activities by developing a new survey instrument that measures constructs related to political engagement, social and political trust, and incorporates population-based experimental design in survey research.
