Get Access to Dewey Data

The Population Studies Center has contributed to an ISR-wide license for the Dewey Data academic research platform– providing access to a variety of third-party quantitative and geospatial datasets.

Diverse Data Sets

These datasets cover diverse categories, including urban planning, real estate, marketing, public policy, consumer behavior, workforce management, behavioral economics, and corporate finance.

The platform partners with data providers like SafeGraph, Veraset, and People Data Labs to offer data from sources such as mobile phone location, company employment, consumer transactions, and real estate data.

Terms and Conditions to Note

  • Data is to be used for academic research purposes only including teaching, research, and non-commercial insights
  • Users must be current ISR faculty or staff member or a currently enrolled ISR student to use the data
  • While you can collaborate with co-authors outside of the institute, they cannot work with the data directly
  • Users cannot compare/verify/evaluate data with other sources and publish those findings
  • Users cannot publish the data in raw form
  • Should this agreement terminate, users must delete any data downloaded. Data used for submitted research may be retained through the publication process

How to access the data:

  1. Go to DeweyData.io and login with your university email to explore
  2. Request access by emailing our license administrator, Maggie Hicken, and make sure to note which ISR center you are associated with.

That’s it! You will receive an email granting you full access to the datasets available on Dewey.
