The results of the 2011 Monitoring the Future survey show a rise in teen use of marijuana and synthetic marijuana (eg, K2) and a continued decline in alcohol use. The proportion of teens reporting any illicit drug use, which has been rising very gradually in the past several years, reached 50 percent.
