Josh Goldstein presents: The multigenerational persistence of immigrant mortality advantages in the United States

“I use new data from the CenSoc project to show that immigrants from many countries not only have a old- age mortality advantage over US natives in the 1st generation, but also in the 2nd generation, and even in later “3+“ generations. I discuss how this changes the way we think about the usual discussions of immigrant health advantages, including behavioral factors, assimilation, and healthy immigrant selection.”
