The University of Michigan (UM) will participate as a full co-partner in the R24 Network on Life Course Health Dynamics and Disparities in 21st Century America over the course of the project, from 7/1/24 to 6/30/29. SU will subcontract to the University of Southern California (USC); other partners in the project include the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and Syracuse University (SU). Specifically, the UM site (Sarah Burgard, PI) will work with the principal investigators at SU (Jennifer Karas Montez), UNC (Taylor Hargrove) and USC (Jennifer Ailshire), respectively, to plan all Network meeting and research activities and to conduct collaborative activities related to the projects overall aims. This includes monthly PI team meetings via teleconference at which Network business, annual meeting planning, pilot grant dissemination, grant mentoring coordination, and new workshops will be discussed. The UM site, under Burgards leadership, will also contribute to the scientific leadership of the project through the following activities: -Co-leading the strategic development of the Network, including the recruitment of emerging, established and underrepresented scientists; -Co-leading and co-organizing the annual pilot project competition; -Co-leading and co-organizing grant mentoring; -Co-leading and co-organizing virtual workshops; and -Co-leading and co-organizing the annual Network meeting.
